Advanced Pediatric Life Support Course (APLS)
APLS is a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Course that is designed to provide a core knowledge in pediatric emergency medicine for health care providers. This course provides physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other allied health providers the information necessary to assess and manage ill or injured children in emergency settings including hospitals and physician's offices. It goes beyond basic resuscitation and is designed to meet the advanced skills and knowledge levels of the physician dealing with serious pediatric diseases and problems.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
PALS course gives healthcare professionals the knowledge and skills to better recognize and treat critically ill infants and children. It is aimed at healthcare providers who initiate and direct advanced life support in pediatric emergencies. The course will use a scenario-based, team approach in teaching pediatric emergency management of patients near or in respiratory or cardiac arrest. The course will cover treatment beyond the first few emergency minutes and continues through stabilizing patients for the transport phases of a pediatric emergency, into or out of the hospital.
