Steven Katz is a founder of PM Pediatrics Management Group, overseeing all of the nonclinical operations of the practices. Prior to joining PM Pediatrics, Mr. Katz was a Managing Director in a $300 million NASDAQ-listed consumer products company, where he created and was the general manager of a successful new technology-based business, leading all corporate development and strategic planning for the company. Prior to that, Mr. Katz was a management consultant for several years, first at Bain & Company and later as an officer of Kaiser Associates. As a consultant he did a significant amount of work in the healthcare industry for clients in the hospital sector, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and supplies, disease management and diagnostics.
Mr. Katz’s educational background includes a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in economics, with honors, from Amherst College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
David J. Biehl is Executive Vice President and General Counsel for PM Pediatrics, where his responsibilities include identifying and developing new locations for the company’s expansion as well as managing the company’s legal affairs. Prior to joining PM Pediatrics, Mr. Biehl was a Partner/Director at the New York law firm of Garfunkel Wild, P.C., where he was also Chair of the firm’s Real Estate Group and a member of the firm’s Business and Health Care Practice Group. He has more than 24 years of legal experience focusing primarily on real estate and corporate transactions for a broad range of commercial and not-for-profit clients, including commercial real estate firms, public companies, hospitals, nursing homes, physicians and physician groups. Mr. Biehl has extensive experience in complex real estate and corporate transactions, including commercial leasing projects, public and private financings, real estate acquisitions and sales, construction projects, equipment acquisitions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships and employment arrangements. He has acted as lead counsel in the development of numerous medical, commercial and industrial buildings, continuing care retirement communities, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, diagnostic and therapeutic radiology facilities, ambulatory surgery centers, cancer centers and mixed-use facilities. A graduate of the State University of New York at Albany (B.A., cum laude, 1984), Mr. Biehl earned his J.D. in 1987 from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was a member of the Cardozo Law Review. While in law school, Mr. Biehl was a law clerk for the Honorable William C. Connor, United States District Court, Southern District of New York. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Health Law Section) and the New York State Bar Association (Real Property and Health Law Sections). Mr. Biehl’s publications include “When Not-For-Profits Buy or Sell Real Estate” (New York Law Journal, August 13, 2007) and he recently made a presentation at the “New York City Healthcare Executive & Physician Roundtable: Making Sense of Real Estate & Demands of Healthcare” (InterFace Healthcare Real Estate Conference, March 15, 2011). Mr. Biehl’s honors include Long Island Business News – “Who’s Who in Commercial & Residential Real Estate Law,” (December 2010) and Long Island Business News – “Ones to Watch in Commercial Real Estate,” (December 2007).
Gary Gerlacher is the Director of Strategic Business Development for PM Pediatrics, responsible for expanding and developing new business models and new markets. Prior to joining PM Pediatrics, Dr. Gerlacher founded Acute Kids Urgent Care in 2003, which grew to be one of the largest pediatric urgent care networks in the country. He eventually sold Acute Kids to HCA Hospitals in 2012 and began work on setting up Texas Children’s Urgent Care. He sold 2 clinics to Texas Children’s Hospital in 2015 and subsequently helped them develop into one of the largest academic pediatric urgent care networks in the country. He is also a co-founder of Little Star Pediatric Urgent Care in California, as well as co-founder and Managing Partner of MedStop Clinics in east Texas. Dr. Gerlacher received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and completed both a pediatric residency and pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital. He has also earned an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Jason Dupuis is the Patient Experience Officer and Director of Employee Learning and Development for PM Pediatrics. He is responsible for leading company-wide efforts to advance employee engagement and the patient-family experience across PM Pediatrics practices. Mr. Dupuis joins PM Pediatrics with over 15 years experience as a healthcare administrative professional, having worked at Boston Children’s Hospital, where he most recently served as their Director of Emergency and Admitting Services. In addition, he is certified in Lean/Six Sigma and teaches Managing Organizational Change and Principles of Healthcare Management at the Hellenic College School of Leadership & Management. Mr. Dupuis earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Management & Policy from the University of New Hampshire, and a Masters in Healthcare Administration from Simmons College.
Jill Cysner is the Controller of PM Pediatrics. Prior to joining PM Pediatrics, Ms. Cysner was an Associate Finance Manager for Time, Inc. where she was responsible for financial reporting and analysis for People magazine. She has also worked for the Accounting Department of New York Magazine at Primedia, Inc. and as an auditor for Arthur Andersen. Ms. Cysner is a Certified Public Accountant. She received her Bachelor of Science at Binghamton University, where she was elected to Beta Alpha Psi.
Rachel Friedman is the Director of Human Resources for PM Pediatrics. Prior to joining PM Pediatrics, Ms. Friedman was responsible for employee training and development for a global IT staffing company. She has also worked in the Human Resources Litigation Division of JPMorgan Chase. Ms. Friedman’s educational background includes a Juris Doctorate from the New England School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Smith College.
Stacy Katz oversees all design work for PM Pediatrics, including layout, themes and decorations of each location as well as logos, advertising and other marketing communications. Ms. Katz is a graphic and interior designer with a specialty in design for children. Previously, she has created and implemented designs for other pediatric subspecialty medical offices and for kid-themed events for up to 300 people. Ms. Katz has also done corporate identity and marketing work for companies in the medical, public health, children’s services, event planning, real estate, office products and recruiting industries. Ms. Katz has a graduate certificate in graphic design from The Parsons School of Design and a Bachelor of Arts in communications from SUNY at Albany, where she graduated with honors.
Pascaline Romain is the Operations Manager of New Site Development for PM Pediatrics. She is responsible for the supervision and training of employees at all new PM Pediatrics locations, ensuring quality and maintaining consistency in operations. Ms. Romain joined us with over 15 years experience at some of the largest practices in New York. She is particularly skilled in all aspects of healthcare finance and management and is also fluent in 4 languages. Ms. Romain received her degree in Business Management from Nassau Community College.
Yta Toribio is the Director of Revenue Cycle Management for PM Pediatrics, overseeing all Billing and Accounts Receivable functions. Her experience spans over 15 years in the healthcare industry with vast revenue cycle management knowledge in both private and academic healthcare settings. Prior to joining PM Pediatrics, Ms. Toribio worked with MDeverywhere, Inc. where she served as Sr. Consultant of Revenue Cycle Management and was managing various divisions that handled billing and collections for inpatient and outpatient services of Nassau University Medical Center. Additionally, she holds a position at Suffolk County Community College where she teaches medical terminology, coding and physician billing. Ms. Toribio earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Briarcliffe College where she was inducted into Sigma Beta Delta, a Masters in Health Policy and Management from Stony Brook University and is completing a Masters in Business Administration from Molloy College.
Sharyn Traub is the Director of Communications for PM Pediatrics. Prior to joining PM Pediatrics, Ms. Traub was a Director of Communications at Nickelodeon Networks, where she was responsible for the development of all publicity efforts for Nickelodeon Preschool TV brands, Nick Jr. and NOGGIN. She has also worked for PAX TV and Scholastic, Inc. in various marketing and publicity roles. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
