Dr. Ruth E. Borgen is the Medical Director for PM Pediatrics of Clifton, where she oversees all medical operations for the practice. Prior to joining PM Pediatrics, she helped create the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Department at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey, where she served as Medical Director for 18 years. Dr. Borgen began her career at Montefiore Medical Center as a Pediatric Emergency Attending, Site Director and Acting Medical Director. A pioneer in the field of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, she has been actively involved in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, including serving on the Medical Advisory Committee of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association, as well as the Medical Team of the Northern NJ Division, NJ Fatality & Near Fatality Review Board. Dr. Borgen is board certified in both Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics. She completed her pediatric residency training at North Shore University Hospital on Long Island and served as Chief Resident at the Children’s Hospital in New Orleans. Dr. Borgen earned her medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and her undergraduate degree from Yeshiva University/Stern College in New York City.
